about fauna films

Our vision is A future where compassionate living is the norm.

Planet Earth is inhabited by roughly eight billion human beings. Unfortunately, the systems that we have created through a mindset of exploitation and ownership are neither serving us, nor the animals that we share the Earth with. It’s the untold stories of healing our relationship with animals and the planet that Fauna Films focuses on.

We see it as our work to touch the hearts of as many people as possible with stories that make them reflect on and question their actions. We believe that change is not something that one does, it’s something that one becomes. And while creating a profound shift of perspective is an incredibly hard task, we know that film is one of the best ways to do it.

Our values

storytelling that moves

Stories have the power to shift perspectives, touch hearts, and inspire change. We create films that make people reflect, feel, and act.

compassion in action

We believe in a world where kindness leads the way. Our work sheds light on the lives of animals and the people fighting for them, making their stories impossible to ignore.

excellence in craft

Beautiful cinematography, thoughtful storytelling, and high production value—every film we create is made with care, creativity, and precision.

integrity and collaboration

We work with partners who share our vision, bringing together voices that can create real impact. Trust, transparency, and shared purpose guide everything we do.

Our Story

Fauna Films was born from a pressing need to provide high-quality visual media and storytelling to the global animal and diet change movement. Every day, incredible advocates are tirelessly working to create a more compassionate future for animals, and their stories deserve to be told.

With a combined 20 years of experience in the animal rights space, James and Silvano, the founders of Fauna Films, embarked on a mission to provide excellent visual production services to animal and food systems change charities and initiatives worldwide, with a strong focus on the Global South.

In 2024, Fauna Films was officially registered as a 501(c)(3) organization in Delaware, USA. With Nora Wilhelm and Irene Tjhai, the founding team managed to add individuals as Board Members that bring a wealth of experience in organizational strategy and collaboration and who are extremely well-connected with stakeholders that are relevant for our work.
